Protein Hot Chocolate

Description
With 30 grams of protein per cup, this rich and creamy High Protein Hot Chocolate is the little treat you deserve today! Velvety and thick, it’s naturally sweetened and made to be sipped by the fire. Fueling yourself has never tasted so satisfying!
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups 2% milk or milk of choice (I used Fairlife)
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder about 25g or 1/4 cup; I used AboutTime
- 2 ½ teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons pure maple syrup plus additional to taste
- Tiny pinch kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips, about 1/3 ounce
- Marshmallows or whipped cream for serving
Directions
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk, protein powder, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt over medium high heat, whisking until it is steaming and smooth. Do not let the milk boil.
- Add the chopped chocolate and vanilla. Whisk and heat until the chocolate is melted and smoothly combined.
- Taste and add additional maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Serve hot with toppings of choice.
